Hillary in Hammond...The Way it Was

I have to agree with Jerry Davich's article from Saturday March 29th and his observations on his blog regarding Senator Clinton's appearance in Hammond.

The Hammond Civic Center was definitely not filled to capacity. There was probably about 4,000 people there with room for at least another 1,000 that's for sure. The crowd was mostly White and Hispanic and the majority of the crowd was there just to see the presidential race come to Hammond. How do I know? On all Hillary's applause lines, I would look around and most people in the balcony that I could see were just sitting on their hands. The union workers, obviously told to show up, sitting in the "VIP" section were just sitting there as well.

Why wasn't there a full house? Why was the crowd not as enthusiastic as it could have been? The answer is simple. Hilary's campaign is finished. I am guessing there must be 500,000 in all of NW Indiana and she couldn't get 5,000 to show up on a Friday afternoon? It's not Mayor McDermott's fault that's for sure, it's America sick of the Bushes and sick of the Clinton's even more. It's the Democratic Party in love with Barack Obama as well. (I wonder if that will change as Barack continues to be put under the microscope for the first time.)

On a side note, why would Mayor McDermott and 6 other local mayor's jump on a failing campaign's bandwagon?

Nice Job,Matt
As far as to why the mayor siding with Hillary,he is playing up Hammond as a furture story. As the campaign H.Q for Hillar7y will be located at the Mayor former campaign H.Q. I think Tom will be interviewed by the nation press as the campaign moves closer to Ind and the city of Hammond gets out the vote,we could be see on C.N.N. or FOX.
Tell Tom to smile while it last because Hillary last stand will become her waterloo.
